“If we didn’t, they would strip it (Daniel Dubois),” said promoter Frank Warren Second When asked if he will face a fight between the fib heavyweight champion, Daniel Dubois, and the mandatory IBF, Derek Chisora, after Peter Fury’s warnings that Gossa could receive brain damage if he takes this fight.
“Everyone has an opinion. I said that Derek should retire two years ago and He showed me that I was wrong“Warren continued.
Chisora showed that he was wrong, huh? These are Derek’s victories in the last two years:
– Otto Wallin
– Joe Joyce: 39
– Gerald Washington: 42
A broken system?
What did these victories prove for Gossa? Demonstrates that Derek was skillfully maneuvered and that the FIB needs to change the way they determine who fights in their title eliminators. There is no way on Earth that the fight against the recently eliminated Otto Wallin, 34, should have been a FIB title eliminator. Does the IBF have no standards?
Wallin was knocked out in five rounds by Anthony Joshua in 2023, and Chisora has not defeated a semi-descendant heavyweight since his victory of eighth round against Carlos Takam in 2018. At least that was a heavy weight of marginal level that Derek won. But their victories since then have been against poor fighters, and their record in their return of three fights against the cans of Tomato Washington, Joyce and Wallin was a humble 1-4. Chisora had lost to former heavyweight champion of the WBC Tyson Fury in a fight for the undeserved title in 2022, Joseph Parker twice and Oleksandr Usyk.
Medical vs. Reality
“If you have a license (gossip) and go through a strict list of tests through the Boxing Control Board before allowing him to fight,” Warren said on a gossip. “That includes all kinds of tests in magnetic resonance and everything.
Passing those tests still does not mean that Gossa should be in the ring with the heavyweight champion of the FIB, Daniel Dubois. There are many washed combatants that can pass medical tests, but they should not be close to a dangerous fighter like Dubois.
Gugora looked like a boxing sack in his last fight against Wallin, and the only reason he won is that this guy is terribly poor. Wallin is not a high -level heavyweight and possibly does not have any business in the top 15 for any of the four organizations. If the IBF acted together, they would not have sanctioned the fighting fight vs. Wallin as a world title eliminator.
