I decided that my stamina had returned enough that I could attempt my Tuesday group ride. We took one of my favorite walks: “around the reservoirs” plus a round trip along Casa Loma Road. I rode in a reclined position because it’s easier on my back and less likely to cause my stenosis to flare up. I used power assist as needed to keep pace. and it had plenty of battery to last the trip. Very pleasant walk on a beautiful late autumn day.

After finishing the ride, I had a strange fall when getting off the bike. When I moved my leg, it caught on the frame tube, so I was temporarily balanced on one leg. Before I lost it, I fell backwards, hitting my back (near the sacrum) and my head on the pavement. Fortunately my helmet saved me. So now I have a new helmet (it’s not a good idea to reuse one after a big impact). Also back pain, which should go away in a day or two. It’s time to work more on balance!
