Note: Potential spoil For the next adaptation of “Chronicles of Narnia” by Netflix ahead!
When Netflix I bought the rights of “The Chronicles of Narnia”, The then main content officer, Ted Saraonds, said: “The stories of Cs Lewis ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ have resonated with generations of readers around the world. Families have fallen in love with characters like Aslan and the whole world of Narnia, And we are excited to be your home in the coming years. ” That was in October 2019. Since then, the world has gone through a pandemic, and Saraonds was promoted to the Netflix co-cement. The company has also signed an inspired (but also terrified) Greta Gerwig to direct its first adaptation “Narnia” and will release the film in the IMAX theaters worldwide on Thanks 2026 (something Gerwig ran into Netflix for a while).
It may seem a lot of activity, and having Gerwig on board is definitely a big problem. But in reality, in the course of more than decade, Netflix Narnia project has only focused on becoming a reality on the screen. The rhythm of the glacier continues, since Netflix has published minimal information about the project at this stage. Be that as it may, things are, in fact, progressing behind the scene, with a little potential news that has recently emerged from the fans site Narniaweb.
The scoop states that the site has obtained a copy of the casting call for the adaptation of Gerwig, and added that, in Narnia’s true style, the film is looking for children’s actors. However, the number and age of these actors are revealing. This is what the site reported:
“The Production (sic) is looking for two children, a boy and a girl, to portray characters that are 10 or 11 years old. At this stage, the description does not specify any particular physical characteristic for roles, such as the height or color of the color of the hair.
This prospective filming calendar makes sense, since the film is pointing to a launch of the late 2026. However, the biggest detail here is the presence of not four but two children. The inaugural book of Narnia de Lewis, “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe”, focuses on a quartet of protagonists in the forms of Pevensie children: Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy (played by William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes and Georgi Henley, respectively, in the adaptation of the 2005 Disney live action film). If this news is precise, and Gerwig is looking for two older children to direct his project, then he could mean that he is preparing to adapt a different novel by Lewis: “The Magician’s nephew.”
