Conor McGregor claims he has “agreed” to fight Logan Paul in an exhibition in India that would see the Irishman take part in a high-profile boxing event for the second time.
McGregor was recently found liable in a civil case in which a woman accused him of sexual assault and was forced to pay more than £200,000 in damages. The former UFC champion has previously said he intends to appeal the decision.
He previously fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017 in a professional boxing fight, in which he lost in the 10th round via technical knockout.
Former UFC two-weight champion McGregor announced on social media that rumors of a return to the Octagon to fight Spanish superstar Ilia Topuria are false, and that he will instead fight Paul before returning to the Octagon, where he has He hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021.
“Rumors of a fight with (Ilia) Topurio (sic) are false,” McGregor said in a post on X.
“I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have accepted.
“Then I will look for my return to the octagon.”
McGregor was due to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303, but withdrew with an injured foot.
Mukesh Ambani, mentioned by McGregor in his social media post, has a personal wealth of $120 billion, according to Forbes.
Paul, who gained fame as a YouTuber, also fought Mayweather in an exhibition fight that ended in a draw. He also fought three more times, including a victory against MMA fighter Dillon Danis, his only victory.
